Twitter is being sold to Elon Musk

The company's board of directors has decided to sell Twitter to Elon Musk for 43 billion. The decision was made after hours of talks between the two sides on Sunday, US media reported.

Twitter is headquartered in San Francisco

Earlier, the Twitter board was forced to discuss Elon Musk's proposal in the face of pressure from shareholders. In this context, when the two sides sat down for discussion, the meeting was held till Monday morning to finalize the bargaining and various details.

Elon musk Offered to buy full ownership of twitter at 54.29 per share. Twitter's board of directors has finally agreed to sell the company at the price offered by Tesla and SpaceX chiefs.

Elon Musk wants to transform Twitter into a privately owned company. According to him, this is the only way to ensure full freedom of speech on a microblogging site. He also wants to have a longer post on Twitter instead of the existing word limit. At the same time, he wants to make Twitter bot-free. Musk called the robotic handle or bot a "worm" on Twitter.

The most important change that Elon Musk wants to bring to Twitter is the introduction of transparent algorithms, so that users can see for themselves why some tweets appear in their timeline and why other tweets are hidden.

If you are a privately owned company, the question that will inevitably come up around Twitter is its revenue model. Relying on existing advertising systems will require Twitter to monetize or exclude ads and move the site to a subscription-based system. In that case, the question remains whether Twitter users want to stay on social media with money.
